    What is Nairobi Bleeding Disease (Ehrlichiosis)? Nairobi Bleeding Disease (Ehrlichiosis) is a tick-borne infectious disease of dogs. The organism responsible for this disease is a rickettsial organism (Ehrlichia canis), usually carried by the brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineous).     What is babesiosis? Babesiosis is a serious and fatal disease of dogs caused by microscopic parasites called babesia. There are two species of Babesia involved: Babesia canis Babesia gibsoni Babesia canis has three subtypes or strains:- Babesia canis canis, (causes moderately severe disease).
