The Andys Veterinary Clinic was founded in 2004 by Dr Andrew Matole Konde and Dr Anderson Gitari Nyagah. The Clinic has three branches - two in Nairobi (Loresho and Ngong Road branches) one in Nanyuki.

The clinics are mixed practices with 90% small animal medicine and 10% being a mixture of equine, livestock and exotic medicine. The Andys Group of Clinics has a total of 6 doctors and a support staff of 17 making a total of 23.

The services offered at The Andys Veterinary Clinics include treatment, surgery, vaccinations, radiology (Digital X-Ray), ultrasound, 24-hour emergency services, grooming, boarding of animals, documentation for import and export of animals and ambulatory services.

Whether big or small, we groom them all - hair clipping, shaving, nail clipping (pedicure), shampooing, medical baths, etc

An emergency is any accident or injury which threatens the cat's or dog's life. The following are the possible problems that can consitute an emergency:

  • Burns and scalds

  • Bleeding from nose, mouth, rectum, coughing up blood, or blood in urine

  • Choking, difficulty breathing or nonstop coughing and gagging

  • Inability to urinate or pass faeces (stool)

  • Injuries to your pet's eye(s)

  • Seizures and/or staggering

  • Fractured bones, severe lameness or inability to move leg(s)

  • Obvious signs of pain or extreme anxiety

  • Heat stress or heatstroke

  • Severe vomiting or diarrhea – more than 2 episodes in a 24-hour period, or either of these combined with obvious illness or any of the other problems listed here

  • Refusal to drink for 24 hours or more

  • Unconsciousness

Regular dental care is important for your pet to avoid dental caries, periodontal disease, calculus, halitosis, gingivitis, etc

When holidays are around and you need a peace of mind, we take care of your pet till you come back

Apart from performing routine surgical procedures [neuters (spay and castration), minor mass excisions, etc.], we also perform additional procedures that include orthopaedics (bones - fracture repair, joints - stabilization of cranial cruciate ligament deficiency, muscles), and soft tissue surgery (skin, body cavities, cardiovascular system, oncologic (cancer) surgery, GI/urogenital/respiratory tracts).

Wellness exams are a vital component of  “preventive medicine”. The goal of preventive medicine is to find and treat diseases BEFORE they become serious. The old adage, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” holds true for our pets as well. Many advances in veterinary medicine have enabled many diseases which may have greatly shortened your pet’s lifespan in the past to be managed (if detected early) so that your pet can live a longer, happier life.

Microchipping is a permanent identification method for cats and dogs. It is a quick and an efficient way of reuniting owners with their lost pets, even across international frontiers. A microchip is a small tube about the size of a grain of rice that contains a unique code (identification number) that is registered on a microchip database and should also be noted down on your pet's vaccination record. The chip is made of an inert material which means it has no power source and wont be rejected by your pet's body.

Preventive medicine is important to protect your pet against diseases that are incurable and fatal. We vaccinate against viral and bacterial diseases that include rabies, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus and parainfluenza in dogs and cat flu in cats.
